The Iranian Heritage Society of Edmonton and the Iranian Students Association of the University of Alberta’s shared statement on the occasion of Yalda

Statement Regarding ICC Summit Invitation

The IHSE statement in correspondence with ICC invitation of Iranian Canadian organization to participate in their summit!

For Yalda

Yalda is an indication that light overcomes darkness, the harbinger that the Sun rises after the dark of the night, and the hope that our homeland will be liberated from the devil’s claws.

While our courageous people have rightly taken aim at the heart of cruelty with empty hands, we will gather together again to raise our voices from thousands of miles away.

We would like to invite you to join us to honor the memory of lost lives, imprisoned comrades, and all those fighting on the side of righteousness.

Human Chain

Dear Edmontonians,

The Iranian Heritage Society of Edmonton in collaboration with PS752Justice has organized a human chain in support of the “WOMEN, LIFE, FREEDOM” revolution. On the day of Cyrus the Great, the nation that was the first to recognize freedom of religion and expression will come together to be the voice of the people fighting for women’s rights, human rights and dignity.

We invite all people to join us throughout this event and shape the human chain:

🗓 on October 29, 2022
⏰ at 2:00 PM
📍 at Dr. Wilbert Mcintyre Park.

Similar to the last event, we will have a canvas for you to sign, music, and chant. From there we will walk towards Whyte Avenue to form a human chain.

Please dress warmly.
