The Iranian Heritage Society of Edmonton and the Iranian Students Association of the University of Alberta’s shared statement on the occasion of Yalda

Yalda is an indication that light overcomes darkness, the harbinger that the Sun rises after the dark of the night, and the hope that our homeland will be liberated from the devil’s claws.

While our courageous people have rightly taken aim at the heart of cruelty with empty hands, we will gather together again to raise our voices from thousands of miles away.

We would like to invite you to join us to honor the memory of lost lives, imprisoned comrades, and all those fighting on the side of righteousness.
